Lovely food. Lovely atmosphere

Great food, especially the Sunday roasts, and a decent selection of beers on draft. Service in the restaurant is always terrible though, I've had food there 3 times now and always has to apologise to the friends we've brought with us; the only reason we go back is because it's one of the better Sunday roasts in the area. A good spot for beers in the beer garden on a sunny afternoon too.

I came for a friends birthday in the function room and It was COLD in there. everyone spent the time on with there coats on and still cold so downs your mood a little. Come on guys thats an easy one, right? That said, the staff were friendly enough and the Sunday Roast! Ah wow, the Sunday roast was fantastic, really on point!! I wanted to congratulate the chef but he wasn't there when i passed by. I honestly could have eaten it all again and hope to be passing by in the future. Yum!

Popular bar and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Handmade chips were nice. Pleasant atmosphere, very lively - Wednesdays are apparently Quiz Night. Staff were friendly and helpful. Near to local bus routes, short walk from Denmark Hill station free parking on most side streets in hhe evening.

The service is really poor and wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. After waiting about 30 minutes for a table (having a table booked in advance) we were finally seated. We ordered two roasts and these were served WITHOUT a Yorkshire pudding - the waiter said they were on their way which we thought was fine at the time. We kept looking at the kitchen and at the waiters passing by and there were no Yorkshire puddings coming out. We made an effort to eat slowly but 20 minutes later we were practically finished and there was no sign of Yorkshire puddings. The waiter later approached us and asked if she could clear the table Staff was completely unapologetic and after explaining the situation even replied back and saidwhy didnt you ask anyone?. We were offered one free to dessert to compensate but we asked to have the bill reduced instead. They took one pound each of the roasts and that was it. Im sure they can afford the low standard of service given theyre so busy and losing a customer or two is probably a blessing, but I certainly wont be coming back.
