First time I've ever been to the ritzy and I loved it. The old-school facade makes you think it will be dated inside but in fact everything is tastefully restored and furnished. Nice bar, fair prices. Watched Bohemian Rhapsody on a fairly small screen but the picture and sound quality were top notch.
Centre of my beloved Brixton: a place I've loved since childhood. I remember when on a Sunday afternoon you could walk down ANY street in Brixton and be greeted by the succulent aromas of the traditional Caribbean Sunday lunch. Shame about the way Ritzy/Picturehouse staff are treated - nonetheless the staff are great as is the cafe/bar/restaurant. Film selection good mix especially like their previews some with q+a. Love it.
One of the best cinemas/venues in London. Usually has good selection of original movies (more independent or smaller hits than blockbusters) and the screens are good size with a nostalgic vintage cinema vibe. Even the biggest screens feel cozy. There's a restaurant serving a pretty good range of food/ drinks and the ticket area serves snacks and drinks Always such a treat being at Ritzy.
My local cinema - has the best selection of films, good coffee and wine - a great place to spend an afternoon relaxing. A variety of Music Upstairs worth keeping an eye on. Staff really friendly.
Long live the Ritzy, the best thing about the Ritzy is the staff. The place is well lived in and it has a real local feel.I noticed that the staff went on a strike in the year 2017, this resulted in the Ritzy closing for a short period. I guess it's a sign of the times. Profit before people and all that. It's worth a visit.
